VaML Women’s Defender Course:
Conceal Carry and Situational Awareness
This hands-on and live-fire Concealed Carry (CCW) and Situational Awareness training course is designed specifically for women by former VaML women alumni !!
Course Overview:
- Duration: 8 hours
- Objective: To equip students with the skills and confidence to carry, react, and use their firearms effectively in real-world scenarios.
Our goal is to empower you with the competence and confidence to embark on new chapters in your life with self-reliance and positive actions.
Course Details:
- Location: Dinwiddie, Va (Private Range)
- Format: Combination of sit-down “classroom” training and “live fire” shooting
- Round Count: 250-300 rounds
Topics Covered:
- CCW (Conceal Carry Weapon) options and why a particular setup is the right choice for the individual in different circumstances.
- Situational Awareness in various settings from shopping and traveling to modern dating.
- Conflict resolution and De-escalation
- Use of force, deadly force, and applicable laws and regulations
- Handgun training
- Shooting fundamentals and marksmanship
- Drawing and shooting from a CCW holster
- Engaging while protecting attached family members
Equipment Requirements:
- Firearms: Semi-automatic handguns only (no revolvers)
- Holster: Inside the Waistband (IWB) holster, preferably AIWB (Appendix Inside the Waist Band)
- Prohibited: “Behind the back” holsters
Certification: Upon completion, students will receive a course certification letter that meets Virginia’s state regulations to acquire a CCW permit.
Community and Support: All students will be added to our private online “Discord Forum,” providing a safe space to discuss various topics with peers. You will receive a link and instructions for early access upon sign-up.
