About The Event

Welcome to Virginia Moonlighters "Learn with a Combat Medic- Part 2" Class!

***If you have not taken Part 1, please reach out to us and we will get you up to speed prior to this event***

What is this event about?  Administering care after a critical incident

This course offers a blend of classroom instruction and live scenarios, designed to instill confidence in administering first aid to yourself and others in potential firearms-related (or other weapon related) situations.  It's a detailed yet beginner-friendly first aid course suitable for all individuals who aspire to develop the competence to be an asset in emergency medical situations.

This is part 2 of the medical class series and will be an 8-hour event to treat individuals following a critical incident involving firearms and other weapons.

The information provided in this course is built to be readily understood and implemented by anyone, all members are welcome regardless of previous experience.

This course will build on the popular medical protocol “MARCH” in use by tactical medical personal all across the world that we learned in Part 1 of this course. You will be given the opportunity to watch, practice, and implement learned material into practical scenarios on site.

Following completion of the course you will have a general understanding of what injuries require treatment, the protocol to make those treatments, and the priority of tasking to ensure efficient use of resources in a volatile situation. You will have a basic understanding to ensure life threatening injuries are recognized and treated with commonly accessible interventions, and be able to successfully communicate conditions and treatments to higher levels of care.

The POC for this course is Alex G. He wrote the syllabus and built the course, so feel free to throw him any questions you have prior to the course and he’ll be sure to help in any way he can.
